The Strange Thing Gospel Script

A retro woman holding a box with a question mark, asking "What is it?"

What is it? Where did it come from?

Honestly, I don't know. It came from a sideshow guy who traveled the world showing it.

The story goes: it was found at the bottom of a well shaft in Kamchatka, Russia by workers who preserved it. It came with a couple of documents indicating that scientists had examined in and had no idea what it is. I've found a couple of articles about it, but don't know much more.

• The real question is: why is it here? Why do we have this whole set up for you to come in and see it?

It’s really a MIRROR that reflects the soul's condition

Could what you saw in the box, be an accurate reflection of someone's heart? Specifically, your heart?

We instinctively know something is wrong with mankind.

We like to think we’re “good people” but if we’re being honest, we’re selfish, and we have more of a bent toward bad than good. It’s a heart problem. Our hearts are inherently selfish and pridefull.

The Bible accurately diagnoses the problem as "foolish, disobedient, led astray, even desperately wicked and only evil continually.

The Bible says “all have sinned” and “the wages of sin is death.”

Because of that, we  deserve eternal punishment in a place called hell.

We have all sinned, and that’s what separates us from the holy God who created us.

The problem with a wicked heart is that you can't fix it yourself any more than you can perform your own heart transplant - which is what you really need - a new heart.

There is a solution to the problem.

The creator of the universe: God - provided the solution by sending His Son Jesus

Jesus came to earth as a man, lived the perfect life we should have, and died on the cross to provide forgiveness for those who trust in Him.

So what should I do?

Turn from your sin and turn to Jesus.

Repent and believe in Jesus.  That means agree with God that you are sinful, confess your sins to Him, and making a conscious choice to turn from sin. Trust in, rely on, and cling to what Jesus did when He died and rose again as your only hope in life and death.

True faith in Jesus is more than just believeing certain facts. Even the demons  believe, but don't love or obey God. True saving faith always responds in obedience.

Obedience includes reading your Bible and attending a bible-believing church.
